Role Description
Jefferson is seeking a Financial Assistance (FA)/Grants Management Specialist to support the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) Mission Support Services. This role will be remote; however, travel may be required during the period of performance. This position requires that applicants reside in the United States and have legal authorization to work in the U.S. Applicants must maintain U.S. residency for the duration of their employment.
The annual salary range is negotiable. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
Responsibilities:

Provide financial assistance and grants management support across the award lifecycle.

Apply knowledge of financial assistance requirements to support grants and cooperative agreements and address complex accounting and financial assistance issues.

Research, analyze, compile, and present financial assistance data and statistics to support Government decision-making and program requirements.

Prepare MFRs, MOUs, and other clear, concise financial assistance documentation using Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Adobe.

Support price analysis, negotiation, and appropriate use of funds and participate in negotiations concerning complex financial assistance awards.

Review grant applications and other financial assistance actions for compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and requirements.

Document, record, and administer award performance and support final review and closeout of completed financial assistance awards.

Plan and execute assigned projects and functions with appropriate independence, creativity, and sound judgment, and provide customer-focused support to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.

Six years of relevant experience supporting financial assistance, grants management, accounting, or related activities.

Demonstrated knowledge of applicable financial assistance laws, regulations, rules, policies, and procedures.

Experience supporting the administration of grants, cooperative agreements, or other financial assistance awards across the award lifecycle.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research issues, analyze financial information, and develop practical recommendations.

Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with Government and external stakeholders.

Ability to manage complex assignments with general supervision while maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and quality.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting federal grants or financial assistance programs within a Federal agency or other public-sector environment.
