[Hiring] Finance Manager - Strategic Finance and FP&A @Penguin Ai

Role Description

You’ll own and lead Penguin’s financial strategy - the models, budgets, and board-ready insight that keep us financially healthy and investor-ready. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role:

• Build and own the financial model and forecasting
• Lead annual budget development and ongoing budget management
• Drive board reporting
• Own headcount planning
• Shape growth and pricing decisions
• Manage our external accounting firm and act as the reviewer of their monthly close

You’ll be a trusted strategic partner to leadership, shaping the financial roadmap that fuels rapid, disciplined growth.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of relevant experience in FP&A, financial planning, or finance operations at startups or growth-stage companies
• Advanced financial modelling and forecasting skills
• Demonstrated experience owning the annual budget process and ongoing budget management
• Experience building board-grade reporting and translating financial data into strategic recommendations
• Experience managing and reviewing the work of external accounting firms or bookkeepers
• Demonstrated cash-management experience
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and modern finance tools
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong ownership mindset and sound judgment under ambiguity

Requirements

• Ownership of the financial model and rolling forecast
• Lead the annual budget process and ongoing budget management
• Drive the board reporting cadence end-to-end
• Own headcount planning and growth/pricing analysis
• Manage the relationship with our external accounting firm
• Own cash flow and runway management
• Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and expense/corporate card programs
• Oversee payroll processing and benefits reconciliation
• Lead fundraising and diligence support
