[Hiring] Field Controller @Davidson Hospitality Group

Role Description

The Field Controller is responsible for fulfilling the duties of the Director of Finance/Controller when assigned to a hotel (or hotels). In other cases, they may be stationed at a property to conduct training of various staff members, or to facilitate work around a special project or property transition.

The Field Controller will report to the Senior Manager Accounting Transitions & Support.

Qualifications

• Degree from a four-year college preferred, preferably with a concentration in accounting.
• Five years of prior related experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Knowledge of:
  • Accounts payable
  • Accounts receivable
  • Income audit
  • Payroll
  • Double-entry accounting (debits and credits)
  • Accruals
  • Financial statement preparation
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ownership reporting
  • Forecasting/budgeting
  • Critical accounting systems
  • Hotel internal control processes
• Experience training entry-level team members with different skill sets and levels of experience, as well as new hires.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and the Universal System of Accountings Lodging Industry (USALI).
• This is a high-volume travel role. The team member must be prepared to travel as needed (usually on a weekly basis), with travel arranged so that it allows sufficient time to complete the assignment.
