Role Description
15β20 hours per week (flexible), with additional availability during month-end. We're looking for an experienced, commercially minded Part-Time Financial Controller to take ownership of our day-to-day finance function and become a trusted financial partner to the business. This is not a bookkeeping role. We're looking for someone who can provide meaningful financial insights, ensure our financial processes run efficiently, and help us make smarter business decisions. Experience working within an SME or agency environment would be highly advantageous.
Qualifications

3-4+ years' experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Senior Management Accounting role.

Strong commercial and financial acumen.

Experience working with external accountants.

Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.

Experience with Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar accounting software.

Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.

Able to work independently and confidently advise business owners on financial performance.
Requirements

Prepare and issue client quotations (CEs).

Generate and send client invoices.

Ensure all supplier invoices and expenses are accurately processed.

Monitor debtor collections and outstanding payments.

Ensure invoices are issued promptly and cash flow is protected.

Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.

Act as the main point of contact with our external accountant.

Ensure all bank statements, invoices, receipts and supporting documentation are submitted accurately and on time.

Prepare month-end financial packs.

Coordinate with the accountant to ensure all month-end deadlines are met.

Complete monthly reconciliations.

Review revenue, expenditure and gross profit.

Monitor project and client profitability.

Compare actual spend against budget.
-
Identify areas of overspending and opportunities to improve margins.

Monitor overheads and operating costs.
-
Forecast cash flow and highlight any financial risks.

Prepare a monthly executive finance report covering:

Provide commentary on the results and make recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

Review and improve finance processes and controls.

Ensure all invoicing and financial administration is completed accurately and on time.

Identify opportunities to improve reporting, efficiencies and profitability.
