Role Description

The Documentation & Funding Manager is responsible for managing operations of the Regional indirect business channel as it relates to documentation preparation, review and funding coordination.

• Provides oversight of the day-to-day operation and administration of Regional Direct business channel functions including:
  • Documentation preparation
  • Documentation review
  • Funding
  • General ledger reconciliation
• Provides subject matter expertise, guidance, and direction to SF employees within and outside the department related to:
  • Vehicle Finance
  • Indirect Finance
  • Direct Finance
  • Capital Markets
• Works with other departments, team members, and clients to assure a timely and efficient funding process.
• Serves as a direct liaison between Signature Bank Group Directors and Signature Financial Executive Sales Officers regarding transaction workflow and completion.
• Assists the VP, Director of Operations in the creation and enforcement of procedures specific to the regional direct business channel.
• Recommends potential improvements to current procedures.
• Assists junior staff with escalated issues, troubleshooting, and expertise.
• Provides guidance and participates in the structuring of complex and large transactions in accordance with industry practices, bank standards, and departmental procedures.
• Reviews and negotiates modifications to documentation requested by clientele.
• Makes decisions based on overall knowledge of industry and understanding of the financial strengths and weaknesses of the client.
• Approves high-level funding and documentation exceptions and waivers while maintaining consistency with internal policies and procedures.
• Performs quality control of transactions reviewed and/or prepared by junior documentation specialists.
• Calculates Executive Sales Officer Incentive Credits (commission) and provides reporting to SF Executive Management and Signature Bank finance department.
• Uses independent judgment and discretion to make decisions.
• Analyzes and resolves problems.
• Responsible for talent management functions including:
  • Employment
  • Performance evaluations
  • Staff development/training
  • Disciplinary actions
  • Succession planning
  • Ensuring compliance requirements are met
• Performs special projects and additional duties as required.
• Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job and completes required compliance trainings.
• Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent).
• Minimum experience required: 6+ Years prior banking and/or finance experience in a commercial lending environment required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior management experience.

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of lease and loan documentation processing required, including proven knowledge of the complexities of documentation and risks inherent in the documentation process.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with management as well as Private Client Groups throughout the Bank.
• Proficiency with industry-related software required; Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
• Ability to make modifications to documents in order to maintain safety and soundness.
• Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross-functional insights.
