Role Description

Victoria Newitt Recruitment Inc has been retained by Kicking Horse Coffee to search for a Director of Finance and Accounting.

What will you do?

• Lead the Controllership function end-to-end; owning financial reporting, accounting policy, internal controls, and close performance with precision and accountability.
• Ensure the financial results are accurate, timely, and decision-ready, while partnering closely with the CFO and cross-functional leaders to deliver insights that matter.
• Operate within a hybrid delivery model of both internal team and external partner execution while maintaining full accountability for AR and AP outcomes.
• Ensure strong oversight, controls, and performance, from audits and tax coordination to treasury support and FX management.
• Play a key role in shaping the future of Finance: leading finance transformation initiatives, optimizing processes, strengthening systems, and building a team that can scale with the business.

Qualifications

• Progressive accounting experience of 10 – 12+ years.
• CPA (or equivalent certification) required.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
• Demonstrated leadership and team development experience.
• Experience in a group or subsidiary reporting environment preferred.
• Experience in other finance functions & finance transformation experience an asset.
• Experience with ERP systems; SAP, OneStream, or similar tools considered an asset.

Requirements

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• This is a remote role. Travel to Invermere, BC would be required a minimum of twice per year. Some additional travel may be required for the role.
• This is a full-time, permanent position in the Finance department, working regular business hours with core collaboration hours of 9am – 3pm Mountain Time.

Compensation

The range offered for this position is: $170,000 – $190,000 annually. Compensation offered within this range is based on factors unique to each candidate, including skills, qualifications, experience, and credentials.
