Role Description
Incredible opportunity exists in the SW US Region for a resort-trained Director of Finance. The Director of Finance will operate and lead a team of sizable accounting staff at this multi-faceted resort property, and drive financial excellence internally and externally with management, executives and stakeholders.

Responsible for providing ethical and consistent leadership in the financial area of the hotel.

Supply management with guidance, training, and support.

Focus on profitability of the business and maintain accurate and timely financial reporting.

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Safeguard owners/investors assets.

Evaluate the financial impact on business decisions.

Notify management of any financial deviations from established policies.

Manage and communicate cash flow related issues.
-
Monitor hotel revenues and expenses; investigate variances to budget.

Assist management with capital planning and evaluation of scope of work.

Ensure compliance on all regulatory licenses and permits.

Coordinate completion of all forecasts and budgets.
-
Analyze financial data to assist management in maintaining financial objectives.

Ensure timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
-
Establish and audit internal financial controls.
-
Focus on training and development programs for finance associates.
-
Hire, train, supervise, and develop staff.
-
Maintain compliance with standards and regulations.
-
Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of IT systems.
-
Direct and prepare financial reports in accordance with CHR requirements.

Review and submit a Daily Revenue Report.

Ensure timely deposit of all cash and transmission of Credit Cards.

Review Labor Report for overtime and variances to Forecast.
-
Review departmental Checkbooks and advise of needed changes.
-
Distribute and discuss weekly G/L report with department managers.

Update GM on unfavorable financial issues impacting the month.
-
Ensure sufficient cash to meet scheduled obligations.

Reconcile Balance Sheet with proper backup.
-
Review "Key Financial Controls" Checklist for compliance.
-
Review actual numbers to forecast to improve accuracy.
-
Participate in the monthly Credit Meeting.
-
Complete and review the forecast with Department Heads prior to submission.
Qualifications
-
10+ years of experience in resort accounting and finance.
-
Resort DOF training required.
-
Multi-outlet, multi-F&B resort expertise.
-
Exposure to spas, golf courses, and other resort services required.
-
BS Degree required.
-
MBA or CPA are helpful but not required.
-
Sound leadership skills and attitude.
-
Sense of accountability to owners, asset management, and operator.

Strong PMS/property systems preferred - M3, Profit Sword preferred.

MS Excel skills required.
-
Outstanding partnership and relationship management skills required.

Sense of ownership and operational knack for success.

Strong eye for numbers.

Benefits

$175,000 - $200,000 base salary (depending on experience).
