[Hiring] Director, Finance @Big Brothers Big Sisters of America

Role Description

As a direct report of the Vice President, Finance, the Director, Finance ensures effectiveness and compliance of the accounting and reporting functions for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA). The Director, Finance manages fiscal functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and ethical standards. They will ensure the highest degree of organizational integrity and transparency and manage:

• Revenue recognition
• Accounts receivable
• Accounts payable
• Financial planning and operations
• Donor compliance
• Audit and overall Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) agency compliance

Qualifications

• A degree in accounting or a related field highly preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• A minimum of 8 years of accounting experience is required.
• Nonprofit accounting experience is preferred.
• 4-6 years direct supervisory experience required.

Requirements

• Expertise in Intacct – Sage software.
• Non-Profit Accounting background.
• Advanced knowledge and demonstrated application of GAAP.
• Federal Grants Reporting knowledge.
• Knowledge of Federal Grants Rules and Regulations.
• Supervisory Skills - ability to lead and motivate team members through performance management, engagement, development, and retention strategies.
• Highly organized in approach, with ability to set and manage priorities.
• Ability to work independently in achieving results consistently on deadlines.
• Excellent team working skills; ability to collaborate.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
