[Hiring] Crypto Operations Associate @Alpaca

Role Description

The Alpaca Crypto team is a 100% distributed and remote team. This role will report directly to the Global Director of Crypto Operations.

• Primary responsibility for the daily monitoring and surveillance of all customer activity.
• Primary responsibility for daily operational tasks including trading, new accounts, and cash management functions.
• Cryptocurrency trading executions and exceptions (errors, corrections, etc.).
• Assist with customer onboarding, including KYC and account approval.
• Review of general ledger accounts, identify and reconcile account discrepancies.
• Support the Anti-Money Laundering Program and investigations that result from suspected suspicious activity.
• Proactively drive impactful changes across workflows, policies and tools.
• Clearly communicate with internal and external partners in an effective, tactical, and insightful manner.
• Ad hoc duties and projects as assigned.
• Global remote location, core time around 9am to 5pm PT (working hours: 8 hours per day, holidays follow the US market holidays).

Qualifications

• Excited about what Alpaca is building!
• 3+ years of relevant experience in a broker-dealer, financial services, trading or cryptocurrency operations role.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with cryptocurrency, or strong desire to learn.
• Work effectively and supportively within a team environment as well as work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Must possess the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business and regulatory environment.
• Enjoys challenges and taking ownership of new responsibilities.
