Role Description

Tamarack is seeking a full-time 12-month contract position of Coordinator, Accounting & Financial Innovation. Although Tamarack’s HQ and governing policies are based in Ontario, we offer remote work for employees residing anywhere in Canada.

The Coordinator, Accounting & Financial Innovation is responsible for delivering accurate, efficient, and compliant financial operations while leading continuous improvement across Tamarack's financial systems and processes. Beyond day-to-day accounting, this role identifies opportunities to:

• Automate workflows
• Improve financial reporting
• Strengthen internal controls
• Enhance the organization's financial capabilities through technology and innovation

Qualifications

• Two years' experience or equivalent
• College diploma or equivalent experience
• Proficiency in Xero an asset but not mandatory
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Excel is essential
• Demonstrated organization skills, including ability to manage concurrent priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Discreet and able to work with confidential and sensitive information
• Adaptable and flexible as the role evolves with the organization
• Positive, enthusiastic, and self-driven
• Ability to engage virtually, both independently and in cooperation with a small, remote team
• Willingness/ability to travel, as required

Requirements

• Core Financial Operations
• Responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of:
• Payroll and benefits administration
• Accounts payable and receivable
• Bank and account reconciliations
• Credit card administration
• Financial reporting and documentation
• Financial records management
• Finance inbox and stakeholder support
• Financial Systems & Process Excellence
• Lead continuous improvements by:
• Identifying automation opportunities
• Improving financial workflows and controls
• Evaluating and implementing technology solutions
• Supporting integration of finance systems
• Developing policies and standard operating procedures
• Training staff on financial processes and systems
• Being a thought partner to identify, triage and implement process improvements
• Organizational Impact
• Partner across the Tamarack team to:
• Improve financial literacy across teams
• Strengthen decision-making through improved reporting
• Enhance operational efficiency
• Support organizational planning and strategic initiatives
• Contribute to cross-functional projects that strengthen Tamarack's long-term sustainability

Benefits

• A starting salary range is rated between $60,000 and $62,000 a year, commensurate with proven skills and experience
