Role Description
As Workit Health’s Controller & Sr. Director of Accounting, you will be responsible for bringing hands-on technical accounting expertise to our nontraditional business model. Our ideal candidate is hands-on, thrives in a dynamic work environment, and has a strong background in accounting operations. This candidate will lead a team to oversee financial reporting, audits, reconciliations, consolidations, and taxes. They will be responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Core Responsibilities

Oversee and manage general accounting functions, including but not limited to: accounts payable, revenue recognition, general ledger, and taxes.

Manage the close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.

Coordinate and execute annual audits, working closely with external auditors.

Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports ensuring they comply with GAAP.

Lead and manage accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and providing coaching and career development opportunities.

Implement and monitor internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Maintain and manage the company’s accounting system, NetSuite, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial data.

Support the company’s strategic initiatives by providing insightful, data-driven analysis and financial perspective.

Directly manage Senior Accountant; partner with Manager, Finance & Strategy; report to Sr. Vice President of Finance & Strategy.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

Active Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) license required.

8+ years of related accounting experience (ideally audit).

Experience owning an end-to-end audit process.

Experience with general ledger systems (e.g. NetSuite).

4+ years of management experience.

Proven record owning end-to-end accounting for multiple entities.

Strong and verifiable experience in Excel and Google Sheets.

Strong analytical skills and understanding of US GAAP.

Excellent communication, organization, time management, and prioritization skills.
