Role Description
HiddenLayer is hiring a Controller to own accounting end-to-end as the finance function scales. You'll report to the CFO and build the close, controls, and systems a growing business runs on. If you've wanted to take a company through external audit, modernize the finance stack, and own accounting in a SaaS business at this stage β this is that role.
What Youβll Do
-
Monthly close: Own close end-to-end β journal entries through published financials β with a target cadence of 10 business days monthly.
-
Audit readiness and external audit: Stand up documentation and controls for external audit, partner with the CFO on firm selection, and manage fieldwork through to a clean opinion.
-
The books: Full GL, AP, AR, treasury, payroll accounting, and revenue recognition. Partner with CFO on technical accounting matters and external support available for heavier lifts (ASC 718, 340-40, SAFE conversion) as needed.
-
Finance systems: Own the finance systems roadmap β GL, AP, expense, and billing tooling β and lead evaluations and migrations as the business scales.
-
Revenue recognition policy: Own the policy, review non-standard contracts before they close, and partner with RevOps on ARR tie-out.
Qualifications
-
7+ years in accounting, with time as Controller or Assistant Controller at a Series A/B (or later) SaaS company.
