Role Description
As a Client Finance Specialist – Billings, you’ll be working with the Client Finance Lead and collaborating across Sales, Operations, and regional payroll teams. You will be instrumental in shaping billing accuracy, revenue protection, and client trust across Employment Hero Heroforce’s scaling global payroll and EOR operations in Australia and New Zealand.

Owning the accuracy and integrity of client invoicing end-to-end.

Resolving billing disputes to protect DSO and cash-collection risks.

Partnering with Accounts Receivable on aged debt and proactively flagging at-risk accounts.

Driving process improvements and root-cause analyses to eliminate recurring billing errors.
This will include:

Preparing, reviewing, and processing multi-currency client invoices end-to-end in compliance with GST/tax obligations, translating contract terms into billing system configurations.

Managing offboarding billing adjustments, client billing account updates, system testing, and process enhancement initiatives using NetSuite and AI tools.

Owning billing dispute resolutions end-to-end (credit notes, revised invoices, or adjustments) and conducting proactive billing health reviews.

Managing Zendesk and Jira billing queues directly while routing non-billing operational queries within agreed SLAs.

Partnering with Accounts Receivable on aged debt and handling refund approvals and credit notes within defined authority thresholds.

Collaborating with payroll leads, Operations, and the Philippines payroll team to maintain clean data handoffs and reduce client churn caused by billing errors.

Maintaining a root-cause log of billing errors to build the evidence base for automation and upstream data quality improvements.
Qualifications
-
4+ years of experience in billing operations, revenue operations, or a client-facing finance role, ideally within a SaaS, payroll, or EOR business.

Hands-on experience with multi-currency billing and understanding FX error entry points and resolution mechanisms.

Fluency in at least one billing platform (NetSuite, Zuora, Stripe, or similar) and helpdesk tools (Zendesk, Jira, Salesforce, or HubSpot).

Confidence in client-facing billing dispute conversations, with the ability to maintain firm contract boundaries while nurturing constructive relationships.

Local market knowledge of AU and NZ billing norms, GST obligations, and direct debit requirements (BECS).

An accounting background or qualification (CA, CPA, or equivalent degree) preferred, as well as prior experience in an EOR or global payroll billing environment.
