Role Description

Delivering comprehensive financial and accounting support, this half-day, fully remote position plays a vital role within an established accounting practice servicing a diverse portfolio of clients. The role is integral to maintaining the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of client financial records and regulatory submissions. Working autonomously within a remote setup, the successful candidate will drive daily transaction processing, manage ongoing client and external stakeholder communications, and ensure all statutory reporting requirements are met efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Financial Processing: Process incoming financial documents daily to maintain up-to-date and accurate accounting records for each assigned client.
• System Maintenance: Oversee client Xero accounts, ensuring absolute accuracy and completeness of all recorded information.
• Statutory Submissions & Compliance: Prepare and submit monthly Payroll, bi-monthly VAT, and annual CIPC returns, utilising e-Filing where appropriate.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and finalise comprehensive monthly financial reports for client review.
• Stakeholder & Team Communication: Maintain regular daily communication with internal team members, conduct weekly updates with clients, and manage ad-hoc liaison with external institutions including SARS and banking partners.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience in bookkeeping or accounting functions within a professional environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing end-to-end Payroll, VAT, and Tax functions, including e-Filing submissions.
• Ability to manage daily client processing and communications independently in a fully remote setup.

Requirements

• An Accounting or Bookkeeping qualification.
