The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations for growing businesses. This role focuses on full-cycle bookkeeping, including:

Core Responsibilities

General Bookkeeping & Accounting β 30%
-
Record and categorize daily financial transactions
-
Maintain general ledger and chart of accounts
-
Prepare journal entries and maintain documentation
-
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality of financial records
-
Bank & Account Reconciliations β 20%
-
Reconcile bank, credit card, and merchant accounts
-
Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly
-
Maintain reconciliation schedules and supporting files
-
Accounts Payable β 15%
-
Process vendor bills and manage payment schedules
-
Maintain vendor records and AP aging
-
Ensure invoices are accurate and properly approved
-
Accounts Receivable β 15%
-
Issue customer invoices and track collections
-
Apply payments accurately
-
Monitor AR aging and follow up on overdue balances
-
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close β 10%
-
Support month-end close activities
-
Prepare basic financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet)

Generate reports for internal review
-
Payroll & Tax Support β 10% (Client-Dependent)
-
Support payroll processing and recordkeeping
-
Organize documentation for tax preparation and compliance
-
Assist external accountants or CPAs as needed
Qualifications
-
1β2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
-
Full-cycle bookkeeping exposure (AP, AR, reconciliations, reporting)
-
Strong understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
-
Experience working with US-based businesses or financial standards
-
High attention to detail and accuracy
-
Strong written and verbal English communication
-
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
