[Hiring] Bank Reconciliation Analyst @First American

Role Description

Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all bank investor custodial accounts. Validate system activity to daily bank activity utilizing various investor and system reports, including GSE forms and schedules. Follow processes to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize company risk for monetary loss, legal action, and charge offs. Participate in audit exams. Work closely with internal teams to align processes and guidelines.

Requires a solid understanding of area of specialization. Resolves a wide range of issues with detailed research. Uses functional knowledge to bring insight to the role, identify issues and inefficiencies, and recommend process improvements.

What You’ll Do

• Reconcile assigned GSE and asset bank accounts and loan activity timely while following departmental policies and guidelines.
• Balance daily cashbook to identify remittance differences between loan servicing system and remittance reports.
• Validate bank statement activity against loan servicing system and GSE reports.
• Work closely with internal teams and other business units to ensure that processes align with internal and external department guidelines.
• Establish and maintain close working relationships with internal and external business groups to ensure all issues and concerns are resolved in a timely manner.
• Assist in reviewing and responding to audit exam requests - internal, external, investor, regulatory and state.
• Generate error log reports and follow escalation procedures to communicate process breaks to business units and management.
• Review payment applications for compliance with investor and Company guidelines.
• Perform analysis and reviews on new reporting formats and or proposed changes to reconciliation requirements.
• Interact with other departmental personnel to ensure new servicing/reporting requirements are in place and functioning as expected.
• Assist in maintaining policies and procedures in accordance with company and Investor Guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Some college preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience, including investor accounting and/or reporting, required.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and government regulations.
• Strong analytical and resolution skills.
• Proficiency in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external sources.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Great attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment, strong interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated; self-starter.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond quickly to emergent problems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Requirements

• Pay Range: $21.24-$28.31 Hourly.
• This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
