Role Description
We are looking for a full-time Assistant Underwriter to support the Property Insurance team through:

Risk assessment
-
Submission triage
-
Clearance
-
Agent/broker follow-up
-
Modeling
-
Associated administrative support throughout the policy lifecycle
You will also be responsive to marketing, underwriting, retention, and service standards that support a quality book of business.
Qualifications

Underwriting experience: Familiar with property insurance, having worked in an underwriting support role or as an underwriter for 1-3 years, writing all risk insurance coverage. Natural catastrophe underwriting experience or experience with Nat Cat modeling is a plus.

Critical thinker: Ability to synthesize large volumes of (often conflicting) information and develop a thesis.

Self-starter: Capable of working independently in a remote environment and anticipating the next step in the workflow.

A thinker and a doer: Ability to hold multiple stakeholdersβ perspectives, devise a solution, and build consensus around that solution.

Excel proficiency: Knowledgeable in using Excel to process submissions efficiently.

Customer service focus: Approaches KWH partners with a relationship mindset, being responsive and collaborative in problem-solving.

Effective communication: Clearly conveys updates and competing priorities to the Underwriters.
Requirements

1-3 years of experience in underwriting or underwriting support.

Experience with property insurance and natural catastrophe modeling is a plus.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Proficiency in Excel.

Excellent communication skills.
Benefits

Compensation: $30.00-37.50/hour + annual target bonus.
