Position: Financial Crime, AML & KYC Analyst

Type: Contract

Compensation: $75–$100/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 15 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

• Adjudicate transaction-monitoring alerts using alert packets, KYC/CDD profiles, and transaction history.
• Document dispositions and draft SAR narratives as needed.
• Review client onboarding and KYC packets for completeness.
• Identify and document cross-document discrepancies for remediation.
• Resolve complex beneficial-ownership structures. Apply 10%/25% UBO thresholds effectively.
• Adjudicate sanctions and adverse-media hits.
• Provide short rationales for true matches, false positives, or escalations.
• Triage supervisory alert queues.
• Adjudicate card fraud and disputes.
• Assess flagged communications against trade records.

Qualifications

• Must-Have: 3+ years hands-on experience in AML, financial crime, KYC/CDD, sanctions screening, fraud/disputes, or transaction surveillance.
• Working knowledge of FinCEN, FATF, OFAC frameworks, and SAR/CDD documentation standards.
• Ability to provide clear, defensible written rationales.
• Preferred: CAMS/ACAMS or CFE certification.
• Experience with enhanced due diligence, entity unwinding, SQL, or transaction analytics.
• Background in fintech or payments.

Requirements

• A timed exercise includes a mock alert packet for disposition and SAR narrative, a KYC packet for discrepancy and remediation list, and a batch of sanctions hits for adjudication with rationale.
