Role Description
Primary job responsibilities include:

Posting checks and wires, balancing/auditing accounts, and assisting clients with billing/statement problems.

Providing effective communication with clients and staff, handling inquiries and issues in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.

Researching and applying daily cash (check, ACH, wires, and credit cards) to accounts for the LOBs assigned utilizing Excel spreadsheets.

Supporting downloading lockbox files and completing reconciliation as needed.
-
Entering daily/weekly credit/debit adjustments into financial systems.
-
Working closely with clients, brokers, and TPAs on various problems and concerns regarding billing, statements, and eligibility issues.

Researching, reconciling, auditing, resolving, and making balance adjustments on accounts, when necessary, in collaboration with the Sr Billing.

Managing tracking of adhoc billing in various Versant systems and applying funds.
-
Establishing work procedures and processes for Billing and Accounts Receivable Department that support company and departmental standards and strategic directives.

Maintaining and supporting any SOX and/or SOC related control activities, retaining evidence as needed per definition.

Supporting the month-end close across all of Finance.

Learning and following departmental procedures which include phone and R/T queue responsibilities and activities.

Preparing various journal entries and reviewing all balance sheets and reconciliations.

Responding to inquiries from group customers, providers, and Client Managers regarding receivable balances due.

Preparing and updating Excel spreadsheets to track Accounts Receivable and collection efforts.

Supporting the Senior AR Representative with various reconciliations for month-end close.
-
Participating in training and educational activities necessary to fulfill departmental goals.

Identifying pending issues and bringing them to the attention of the supervisor/manager.

Assisting in special projects and department initiatives as assigned.

Assisting and supporting process improvements for Billing and Accounts Receivables.

Diffusing and escalating challenging situations.
-
Performing other duties as assigned by leadership to support the overall success of the Billing and Accounts Receivable Department.
Qualifications
-
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
-
1-2 years experience in the insurance, health, or vision care industry required.
-
Proven experience in Accounting โ Accounts Receivable and Collections.
-
2-3 years of Accounts Receivable experience preferred.
-
Experienced and skilled in working with Microsoft Excel and Word.
-
Proficient in Microsoft Excel features such as sorting, filtering, formulas, and vlookup compares.

Preferred prior experience in customer service and/or accounting knowledge.

Excellent computer skills and proficiency with word processing and spreadsheets.
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with clients via phone and written correspondence.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks appropriately.
