Role Description
An accounting supervisor is responsible for leading junior accounting personnel. The supervisor will handle multiple accounting tasks while also managing the billing team and those processes directly. Under the general direction of the Corporate Controller, the Accounting Supervisor plans, supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of the billing team in the areas of accounts receivable, collections, credit card, and banking processes while also completing related work as required.

Review, evaluate, and resolve billing process issues and revenue collections.

Maintain preparation of statements and invoices and resolve discrepancies in accounting records.

Monthly Reconciliations for the Banks, Deferred Revenue, and Deferred Expenses.

Assist in the monthly closing process.

Payroll processing (Bi-weekly and Semi-monthly payrolls).

Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.

Supervise the billing and assist in hiring, training, and reviewing the performance of staff.

Processes documents related to expenses.

Contribute to the maintenance of accounting data and provide support as needed to the accounting department.

Manage various forms of accounting data, such as that related to accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Must communicate intelligently and effectively at all levels of the organization with a high accounting and customer service orientation.

Assist with GAAP financial statements through document preparation, integrity validation, and reconciliation processes.

Participate in the development of policies and procedures.

Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures and make recommendations for changes and improvements.

Perform ad-hoc analysis and assist with the execution of special projects as needed.

Identify opportunities to improve existing accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.

Organize work, set priorities, and meet critical deadlines.
Qualifications

Over 5 years of experience as an Accounting Supervisor or Team Lead with at least 3 years of direct supervision and training.

Must have the Software as a Service Industry experience.

Diversified experience with financial accounting systems and the Microsoft suite.

Knowledge and skill in the application of GAAP and other applicable financial reporting and accounting regulations.

Knowledge of accounting information systems.

Principles of supervision and training.

Ability to review and analyze complex accounting and financial data.

Experience with journal entries.

Reconcile journals, ledgers, and legal documents.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Critical thinking, problem-solving, ability to work independently or as a team.
Requirements

A bachelorβs degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting or another related field.

Sarbanes-Oxley or related internal control compliance.
