Evaluate and authorize journal entries, accrual entries, reconciliation reports, variance commentary, and other closing materials produced by accounting staff, respecting segregation-of-duties standards.
-
Analyze complicated accruals, prepaid balances, irregular transactions, and manually recorded entries, questioning underlying premises to ensure proper accounting classification.
-
Take on the role of central contact for addressing posting difficulties, closing roadblocks, interface malfunctions, gaps in supporting records, and judgment-driven accounting choices within your area.
-
Ensure ongoing alignment with internal control systems, SOX compliance requirements, and formally documented closing steps.
-
Manage reconciliation work connecting source systems to SAP, confirming that noteworthy discrepancies receive proper investigation and correction.
-
Coordinate with regional controllers, in-country accounting personnel, accounts payable, treasury, and tax teams, along with other involved parties, on closing matters, accounting questions, and procedural revisions.
-
Represent the accounting group during both internal and external audit processes, ensuring cohesive communication and well-prepared documentation.
-
Mentor junior accounting staff by evaluating their work output and helping build their technical expertise and closing discipline.
-
Champion projects targeting process refinement, standardization efforts, and evaluation of new tools, reporting systems, and workflow improvements.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's and Master's degree in Accounting, plus certification as a Colombian Public Accountant.
-
Minimum five years of experience across relevant finance areas such as General Ledger, record-to-report, financial reporting, and auditing, with at least two years in a leadership or supervisory position.
-

Demonstrated experience leading process governance, improvement programs, and workflow streamlining.
-
Solid communication skills paired with functional English ability at B2 level or higher, allowing accurate interpretation of business needs and their translation into agentic architecture frameworks.
Requirements
-
Previous involvement with shared services models or accounting operations spanning several countries or business divisions.
-
Employment background at a Big Four organization or another highly regarded audit firm.
-
Practical experience using SAP or comparable ERP solutions for financial reporting and reconciliation tasks.
