Role Description
We're on the search for an Accounting Lead β Record to Report (R2R) to become part of our organization. In this capacity, you'll take charge of accounting accuracy, control frameworks, and process execution spanning numerous entities or a core segment of accounting operations. The role calls for guiding teams through intricate accounting matters, steering cross-departmental resolution of significant risk items, representing the department throughout audit and leadership conversations, and confirming that close cycles, controls, and deliverables align with organizational expectations.

Manage the monthly closing schedule for designated entities or functional areas, guaranteeing thoroughness, accuracy, and punctual completion of every essential closing task.

Assess and sign off on journal entries, accrual calculations, reconciliations, variance write-ups, and additional close outputs generated by team members, following segregation-of-duties protocols.

Scrutinize intricate accruals, prepaid items, atypical transactions, and manually entered postings, questioning assumptions to verify correct accounting handling.

Function as the go-to person for resolving concerns tied to posting errors, close obstacles, system connectivity problems, absent documentation, and judgment-based accounting decisions within your domain.

Uphold compliance with established control structures, SOX-driven mandates, and formalized closing protocols.

Supervise the reconciliation process linking source systems with SAP, verifying that significant variances get investigated and cleared up.

Liaise with regional controllers, local accounting staff, accounts payable, treasury, tax departments, and other key stakeholders regarding close-related issues, accounting concerns, and evolving procedures.

Act as the accounting department's representative throughout internal and external audit activities, promoting uniform messaging and audit-prepared documentation.

Coach and elevate junior team members by reviewing their deliverables and fostering growth in their technical acumen and closing rigor.

Spearhead efforts centered on refining processes, standardizing approaches, and piloting new tools, reporting mechanisms, and workflow upgrades.
Qualifications

Bachelor's and Master's degree in Accounting, together with Colombian Public Accountant licensure.

Five-plus years working within relevant finance disciplines including General Ledger, record-to-report, financial reporting, and audit functions, with no less than two years spent in a supervisory or leadership capacity.

Applied background in Corporate Finance or a similar supporting function, coupled with strong familiarity with finance workflows, everyday business practices, and operational dynamics.

Sharp analytical and troubleshooting abilities, encompassing capacity to spot issues, rank them by importance, communicate them effectively, and develop plus carry out corrective plans.

Deep familiarity with US GAAP and IFRS frameworks, along with proven capability applying them to complicated or atypical situations.

Track record spearheading process oversight, enhancement projects, and workflow refinement.

Capable communication skills combined with functional English fluency at B2 level or above, enabling clear grasp of business requirements and their conversion into agentic architecture concepts.
Requirements

Earlier experience operating within shared services or accounting setups covering multiple countries or organizational units.

History of employment at a Big Four firm or another well-established audit organization.

Direct working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP platforms utilized for financial reporting and reconciliation purposes.
