[Hiring] Accounting Assistant @Federal Data Systems

Role Description

We are seeking a part-time, detailed-oriented and motivated Accounting Assistant to temporarily support our Accounts Payable (AP) function and assist with general accounting tasks. This is a temporary, project-based position of no more than 16 hours per week with an expected end date up to yet no greater than six months of service.

• Maintain and monitor the Accounts Payable mailbox, including organizing incoming vendor invoices and tracking approvals to ensure timely processing.
• Assist with inventory invoice matching (purchase orders, receipts, and invoices).
• Assist with reconciling invoices on flooring bank reports to the accounting system.
• Review, code, and enter vendor operating expense invoices into the accounting system.
• Assist with ad hoc general accounting tasks and various projects as needed.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• No security clearance required.
• At least six months - 1 year of office or customer service experience.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, and Outlook).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Basic understanding of math and general office tasks.
• Ability to start quickly and rapidly adapt FedData office systems.
• Must be local to D.C., MD, VA area to report onsite in Annapolis Junction as requested.

Requirements

• College coursework; pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
