[Hiring] Accountant @Humana

Role Description

The Accountant 2 performs general accounting activities, including:

• Preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts
• Preparation of financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and capital expenditure schedules
• Documentation of accounting projects

The Accountant 2 prepares, records, analyzes, and reports accounting transactions, ensuring:

• Integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles
• Financial support, including forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing variations from budget
• Analysis and preparation of statutory accounts, financial statements, and reports

Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction while receiving guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• 2 - 5 years of experience with SQL, Access, or similar
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Requirements

• Prior experience in public or corporate accounting (preferred)
• Strong technical accounting skills (preferred)
• Occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required
