[Hiring] Accountant @XCEED

Role Description

XCEED is evolving. We are moving away from manual, spreadsheet-heavy workflows and external dependency toward a fully internalized, tech-driven financial engine. As our Accountant, you will lead the charge in migrating our accounting from external providers to a modern cloud-native ERP. You will own the "source of truth" for our financial data, ensuring that every transaction—from event organizer settlements to cross-border VAT—is captured with precision and scalability.

• Process Design: Architect the internal accounting structure from scratch. Move us away from Excel/Google Sheets and into automated, system-driven workflows.
• Lead the ERP Migration: Transition our accounting function from Sistemi to a modern, cloud-native Italian ERP (e.g., TeamSystem, Zucchetti, or AdHoc).
• Data Integrity: Oversee the migration of historical GL, VAT, and AR/AP data, ensuring full integration with our internal data systems and payment providers.
• Invoicing & SDI: Manage the full lifecycle of supplier and customer invoices, ensuring correct accounting treatment and seamless SDI submissions.
• AR & Debtors Management: Take full ownership of the accounts receivable ledger. Track advances, monitor organizer receivables, and optimize collection processes to reduce exposure.
• Settlements & Payments: Oversee outgoing payments to event organizers, ensuring settlement calculations are pinpoint accurate and perfectly timed.
• VAT & Compliance: Prepare VAT registers and support EU filings, including OSS (One-Stop Shop) declarations for cross-border transactions.
• Transaction Matching: Reconcile high-volume bank transactions against payment providers (e.g., Adyen) and internal platform data.
• Audit Readiness: Maintain clean, auditable records of all liabilities and accruals.
• Reporting: Produce monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• External Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for our external tax advisors and payroll providers, managing the hand-off between operational accounting and statutory reporting.
• Cross-Functional Support: Partner with Legal and Ops to provide financial insights that drive better business decisions.

Qualifications

• 4 to 7 years of accounting experience within the Italian market.
• Deep familiarity with Italian accounting software (TeamSystem, Zucchetti, etc.) and a "tech-first" approach.
• Firm grasp of Italian GAAP and comfort navigating the complexities of EU VAT and cross-border transactions.
• Desire to build processes where none existed.
• (Bonus) Experience in a high-transaction environment (Fintech, E-commerce, or Marketplaces).
