Role Description
The Warranty and Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for generating and processing invoices, debt collection, and financial record reconciliation for internal and external customers. This role requires marine industry experience.
- Generate, detail, review, and adjust warranty claims following policy and procedure.
- Organize and execute parts returns per warranty department policy for CPR requests and internal department investigations and communicate information to all stakeholders.
- Enter return authorizations of parts and serialized products and prepare all required documents & correspondence.
- Advise external consumers and internal staff on product registration/warranty policies.
- Create, maintain, and process billing invoices while utilizing dealer POS Software to accurately and timely document all department labor, parts, warranty, and other transactions.
- Maintain and furnish financial and warranty statistical reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Director.
Qualifications
- Acquire and maintain MU Outboard certification within the first year of employment while demonstrating a thorough knowledge of Mercury and Brunswick products.
- Able to accurately identify and understand parts interactions.
- Knowledge of dealer invoicing software, including service, parts, and sales.
- Knowledge of Mercury’s warranty and data collection systems.
- Complete understanding of the company's customer service philosophy and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and excellent verbal and written skills to effectively interact with organizations, dealers, customers, brokers, and OEMs while providing exceptional direct consumer interactions.
- Excellent computer and technology skills, capitalizing on effective communication, meticulous data gathering, and documentation through digital media.
- Must be a self-starter capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Inspire and motivate trust in people by exemplifying the organization’s vision.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related or a minimum of three years of experience in marine service and accounting or adjacent industry.
Requirements
- Customer service experience and complete understanding of service philosophy.
- Three or more years in a marine service-related capacity.
- Knowledge of Marine service and repair fundamentals.
- Proficient with Office 365, SalesForce, Oracle, and Lightspeed business systems.
