Role Description
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team!
The Senior Accountant will be under the direction of the Accounting Manager and work directly with other team members to ensure the finance function meets its goals, key metrics, and other financial reporting obligations.
- Participate with the Accounting Manager and team in supporting the completion of day-to-day accounting responsibilities, including working with various accounting modules that feed into the general ledger, such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, treasury, etc. for all of the organization’s entities.
- Take an active role in team response to ensure the timely and accurate completion of monthly and annual financial statements and related supporting documents ensuring that reported financial results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Be an active participant in the completion of monthly responsibilities that may include but are not limited to journal entries, account reconciliations, issuance of billing statements, revenue and expenses analysis, bank reconciliations, fixed asset reporting, compilation of the trial balance, account analysis, and other related supporting processes to the close cycle.
- Dedication to adherence to the month-end close cycle deadlines and other responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
- Ensure that all month-end control account reconciliations (i.e., A/R and A/P) are completed timely and tie to supporting ledgers, within the close cycle.
- Support and participate in the annual financial audit process.
- Interact and provide information and answer questions for internal and external third parties.
- Interface with external auditors, tax professionals, and other external consultants and assist in team effort for preparing for annual audits and other quarterly and annual reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall effectiveness of the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in accounting/finance, working with multiple skill levels in Accounting in a team environment, with specific involvement with the general ledger
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and MUST have advanced Excel skills
- Motivated self-starter and team player, capable of managing multiple deliverables within mandated timeframes on their own
- Ability to effectively communicate to leadership status of deliverables and workload and timeframe for completion along with being able to communicate day to day with team members as well as senior leadership
- High degree of attention to accuracy, sense of urgency, and continuous improvement
- This is a Hybrid position mainly working from home, and must reside in the Phoenix, AZ metro area
- Experience working in an ERP system required, preference will be given to Sage experience
- Must complete our Culture Index Survey.
Requirements
- Must reside and be fully authorized to work in the US.
- We are seeking remote applicants, preferably in Arizona, Illinois, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas or any state except California, Colorado, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Massachusetts and Washington.
