Role Description

As the company’s Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including:

Overseeing end-to-end financial activities, including accounts payable and receivable, month-end closing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards, corporate tax, VAT, and statutory requirements as they relate to cryptocurrency.
Preparing and reviewing financial statements for accuracy and completeness, including statements that reflect the use of cryptocurrencies and tokens.
Managing financial operations such as budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Overseeing tax compliance, including the preparation of audit readiness documents to ensure a smooth and clean audit and addressing audit-related queries from external auditors.
Developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls for FIAT and cryptocurrency transactions.
Overseeing the implementation of systems and processes to support the company's growth and expansion in the cryptocurrency industry.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent certification preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a minimum of 2 years in blockchain/web3.
Experience with US and UK GAAP and tax regulations as they relate to cryptocurrency.
Experience with financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit processes.
Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
Fluent in English.

Requirements

Experience with cryptocurrency accounting and reporting, including knowledge of cryptocurrency-specific accounting standards and tax regulations.
Experience with managing cryptocurrency wallets and exchanges, including security best practices and managing risks associated with cryptocurrency transactions.
Experience in Financial Planning and Analysis and basic knowledge of Python/SQL.
