[Hiring] Senior Accountant @Box

Role Description
This role involves preparing reconciliations for assigned accounts and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare "best-in-class" reconciliations for all assigned accounts, including Cash, Corporate Card, and Fixed Assets.
- Maintain detailed supporting schedules for all assigned accounts and ensure reconciliation with G/L accounts.
- Prepare related account journal entries with appropriate documentation.
- Identify and resolve incorrect entries, data anomalies, and exceptions in schedules and G/L.
- Ensure automated interfaces to the general ledger (NS) and relevant systems are functioning as intended.
- Oversee root cause analysis of recurring adjustments and reconciliation issues; recommend process improvements.
- Research and prepare commentary for month-end variance analysis of assigned Income Statement and Balance Sheet accounts.
- Accurate and timely preparation of audit-related requests.
- Perform tasks in compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements; identify control gaps and recommend improvements.
- Communicate and partner with the Enterprise Systems team to resolve system bugs or needed enhancements.
- Design, propose, and implement streamlined processes and best-in-class policies for general ledger account transactions.
- Document business requirements, create UAT plans, perform systems testing on Shared Services initiatives, and communicate project progress.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience; experience in publicly traded multinational high-tech companies is a plus.
- Proficient to advanced MS Excel skills (pivots, v-lookups, formulas, functions).
- Experience with an ERP system is a plus; NetSuite and Blackline preferred.
- Relevant experience with SOX and interacting with external parties, including auditors.
- High-functioning knowledge of current GAAP and accounting policies and procedures best practices.
- System and data flow knowledge; ability to learn and adapt to new flows/technologies.
- Self-motivated and self-managed; ability to think independently and creatively.
- Ability to work well across time zones and handle pressure effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to articulate complex matters clearly.
- Team-oriented approach; ability to work cross-functionally with other organizations.
