Role Description
Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Manager – Indirect Tax in North America for a highly visible and cross-functional role. This position will lead transaction tax compliance and incentives for new site development, construction projects, and operational sites.
- Manage exemptions and direct pay permits
- Review taxes on construction pay applications
- Ensure sales & use tax compliance in several states
- Collaborate with New Site Development, Construction, Operations, Legal, Procurement, Accounting, and Finance teams
- Communicate frequently with outsourced/co-sourced tax advisors and government authorities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field, is required
- Master of Taxation is highly preferred
- CPA and/or CMI/CCIP designation is a requirement for this role
- 7-10 years of professional experience in an industry tax role with C&I and transaction tax responsibilities
- 3 or more years of Big 4 or Regional public accounting experience in relevant position
- Broad exposure to multistate and local jurisdictions
- Experience in the construction industry preferred but not required
- Familiarity with Canadian GST/HST/PST taxation is preferred
Requirements
- Confident and collaborative communicator
- Proven ability to build positive and productive relationships
- Strong analytical mind, problem-solving, and modeling skills are required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial modeling tools
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner
- Self-starter with the agility to operate independently in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates executive presence and effective communication skills
- Professional-growth mindset with a willingness to bring forth ideas that can benefit Vantage
- Travel required is expected to be up to 5% but may increase over time as the business evolves
