Role Description

The Accounts Payable (AP) Manager is responsible for all areas pertaining to accounts payable operations and accounting processes. Your main areas of responsibility will be managing AP operations, supervising the AP team in their day-to-day activities, and partnering with Procurement Operations to maintain master vendor data.

Partner and collaborate with several departments within Samsara (Accounting, Operations, IT, Financial Systems, etc.) and external vendors to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
Develop and implement a standardized, scalable, and efficient accounts payable process and related systems while maintaining quality, accuracy, internal controls, and compliance.
Supervise the processing of high volume invoices accurately, timely, and efficiently.
Handle invoices in multi-currency from domestic and international vendors.
Assist with weekly payments runs to ensure timely payments to vendors.
Manage and develop team members to meet key metrics such as on-time and accurate invoice processing.
Identify opportunities for efficiencies and recommend changes and improvements to the accounts payable processes and systems to ensure scalability.
Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles as we scale globally and across new offices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or 9 years of equivalent experience in Accounting
4+ years of Accounts Payable experience
2+ years of people management/supervisory experience
Knowledge of basic accounting principles
Able to work with a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment
Experience with ERP Systems, preferably NetSuite and Zendesk
Proficient in Excel
SOX compliance required

Requirements

Possess exceptional attention to detail
Work with a sense of urgency and analytical mindset
Self-motivation, proficiency in navigating systems, and a strong ability to collaborate effectively as a team member
Strong organization skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
The ability to meet or exceed deadlines with a strong attention to detail
Data analytics and/or Tableau experience are a plus
