Role Description

The Legal Counsel will be responsible for managing and advising on all legal aspects of the company, including:

Managing the protection of the company's intellectual property assets, including software, trademarks, and proprietary technology.
Overseeing the filing and maintenance of trademarks and patents.
Managing and resolving IP-related disputes and infringement issues.
Ensuring compliance with all relevant US travel industry regulations, including DOT and FAA requirements, monitoring changes in travel laws and regulations and advising on necessary business adaptations.
Drafting and reviewing customer terms of service, privacy policies, and other compliance documents.
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts with vendors, partners, and service providers in the US and internationally.
Advising on corporate structure, including holding company setup and inter-entity relationships.
Overseeing compliance with corporate governance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
Advising on employment matters across the US, Europe, and Mexico, ensuring compliance with local labor laws.
Drafting and reviewing employment agreements, service provider contracts, NDAs, and non-compete agreements (NCAs).
Providing strategic legal advice to senior leadership to support business growth and mitigate risks.
Assisting in dispute resolution and litigation management as necessary.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent legal qualification and active license to practice law.
8+ years of legal experience, preferably in-house or with startups in the tech or travel industry.
Strong expertise in intellectual property law, contract negotiation, corporate structure, and employment law.
Global legal experience, particularly in managing legal matters across the US, Europe, and Mexico.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice.
