Role Description

This role involves providing legal counsel for our various commercial real estate services business lines across the U.S., with a focus on brokerage services.

  • Responsible for contract negotiation, review and drafting
  • Risk management and general legal advice
  • Assist in review of internal shared services documentation, including leases and vendor agreements
  • Develop positive and collaborative relationships with employees across the organization

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school
  • Member of at least one State Bar in good standing
  • 3 to 8 years of experience, with in-house experience preferred but not required
  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in a fast-paced and high-volume environment
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinker
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of general commercial law and real estate agreements & transactions preferred

  • Using excellent judgment to actively solve legal matters
  • Become a trusted advisor to service line professionals
  • Assist in review of internal shared services documentation
  • Support senior legal colleagues and business line leadership with research and other projects
  • Develop and conduct legal training sessions
  • Develop positive and collaborative relationships with members of Colliers
  • Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned
