Role Description
As a Client Accounting Manager, you will oversee the financial operations for a portfolio of SME clients, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and providing high-level accounting services. Your role will involve:
- Managing the preparation and review of statutory accounts, tax filings, and VAT processes
- Mentoring and guiding a team of accountants
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Offering strategic financial advice
- Ensuring smooth financial management for clients in a fast-paced, growing environment
Qualifications
- Qualified or partially qualified in AAT, ACA, ICAEW, or ACCA with at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Extensive knowledge of accounting practices, corporation tax, VAT processes, and compliance regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and Excel
- Experience in working with a large portfolio of SME clients and a fast-growing startup environment
- Knowledge of payroll and personal tax is advantageous
Requirements
- Oversee and review the preparation of statutory annual accounts, reconciliations, and external returns for a portfolio of SME clients
- Manage client relationships, providing financial insights, advice, and recommendations to help clients meet their business goals
- Ensure all financial records, systems, and internal controls are maintained, reviewed, and compliant with regulations
- Lead and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance on day-to-day challenges, performance management, and training
- Handle complex tax compliance issues, including corporation tax and VAT, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements
