Role Description
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for assisting the VP of Finance / Controller in the accounting operations of company subsidiaries, including, but not limited to the general ledger and managing the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Assist with month-end close process of subsidiaries, primarily focused on AR and AP functions, along with reconciliation of subsidiary transactions to the general ledger and revenue and expense accruals.
- Prepare subsidiary account reconciliations on a monthly basis, including AR and AP account reconciliations.
- Oversee the accounting day-to-day activities, ensuring adherence to TransForce policies and procedures, with a primary focus on accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
- Continuously work with subsidiary operations team to record all sale invoices and collections, including providing assistance in collection of overdue accounts receivable, where necessary.
- Monitor accounts payable process to ensure proper invoicing and payments.
- Help develop policies and procedures to achieve efficiency and organizational goals.
- Assist with centralization of various AR and AP processes.
- Serve as backup for general ledger Accounting team members during absences.
- Assist in ad hoc accounting reports and analysis.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and other special projects, included, but not limited to acquisition integration activities.
- Support annual audit and tax compliance of TransForce group.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the accounting field
- CPA or CMA preferred but not required
- Ability to help develop and enhance processes
- Strong understanding of operational systems and internal controls
- Familiarity with Great Plains Dynamics preferred, but not required
- Strong Excel skills and reasonable familiarity with other Office applications
