Role Description
As the Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial health of the company. You will be responsible for:
- Preparing financial reporting packages in accordance with US GAAP
- Running the month end close process
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards (specifically ASC-606)
- Overseeing accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP)
- Managing accruals
This role requires someone with a deep understanding of the tech industry and startup environments, as well as experience working in small teams and managing accounting staff.
What You'll Do:
- Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and timely financial reporting
- Ensure timely closing of monthly, quarterly and annual books and lead the preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
- Accurately review, code, and process vendor invoices
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, with accuracy
- Process customer invoices
- Assist with Accounts Receivable collections
- Communicate issues and resolutions to management and affected areas/departments
- Assist in annual financial audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to audit inquiries
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis for senior leadership as needed
Qualifications
- 5-8 years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles (familiarity with Netsuite, Captivate IQ, Salesforce + ASC-606, a bonus)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to efficiently and effectively prioritize and perform multiple projects while working with varying team members, as well as work independently with limited required direction
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills with strong attention to detail
- Eager to learn new things and take on additional tasks to support the team
