As a Systems Engineer SME, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of providing Unified Communications. You will play a crucial role in designing, building, and delivering reliable UC to our Federal Aviation Administration customer.

SME Responsibilities:

• Develops advanced solutions to a variety of highly complex engineering problems, platforms include Avaya, Juniper, Cisco, Zoom, and MS products to name a few.
• Perform highly advanced systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end; Avaya Aura a must.
• Provides and applies advanced engineering to highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools; Avaya Aura platform a must.
• Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.
• Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, model formulation, computer architecture analysis and design, and digital systems engineering.
• Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
• Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in systems engineering to support Avaya Systems, specialized in OSSI based automation tools.
• Experience in creating OSSI scripting frameworks, and Avaya Aura System Manager database schema and OSSI interface.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science
• Experience: 15+ years of related experience
• Technical skills: Avaya SME, OSSI SME, and Telecommunications Service Delivery SME, Configuration Management, Cloud deployments, use of Python at the developmental level
• Role requirements: Agency Specific Suitability: FAA
