[Hiring] Technical Leader @GE Vernova

Role Description

The Technical Leader leads the technical design, development, and implementation of comprehensive solution architectures from presales through delivery. You will drive execution of key offerings including:

• Distribution Automation
• Process Bus Digital Substations
• Cybersecurity
• Top-Down Engineering Solutions

You will collaborate with business development and sales teams to analyze customer needs and translate into technical specifications aligned with the company's overall technology strategy. Project execution encompasses:

• Hardware devices (protection relays, bay controller units, auxiliary relays, industrial computers, synchronizing clocks, telecom equipment)
• Software applications (distribution automation, process bus, advanced protection schemes, cybersecurity management, device management, assets performance, microgrid)

This is a customer-facing role requiring experience presenting solutions and supporting demos, pilots, and proof‑of‑concepts to stakeholders from field engineers to executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in Digital Protection & Control Systems or Energy Management Solutions design engineering for utilities and industrials, ideally within Grid Automation.
• Relevant experience in Electric Power Distribution Automation, Process Bus, Substation Digitization, Monitoring & Diagnostics, Asset Performance Management (APM), Device Management (DvM), or Cybersecurity Management.
• Proficient in designing and programming electrical control systems, including SCADA/HMI, cybersecurity, network equipment, IEC61850, Firewalls, and more.
• Fluent in English.
• Ability to travel 30% in the U.S. and Canada.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of automation electrical control systems, SCADA/DCS systems, and networking communication protocols.
• Experience with smart grid technologies and renewable energy integration.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to influence and lead cross functional teams.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to Grid Automation.
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills with ability to communicate difficult concepts and influence others' opinions on specific topics.
• Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Professional, Certified Protection Professional).
• Professional Engineering license.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
