Role Description

We are looking for a Site Supervisor (Scottish power authorised) at Hitachi Energy, Grid Integration business (PGGI). The sites you will manage can be anywhere in the United Kingdom. In this position, you will lead all on-site activities of a project to assure cost-effective execution of project deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements during the start-up, construction and/or erection, commissioning and maintenance phases.

Please note we are unable to provide visa support on this position.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Planning project on-site activities together with the Project Manager, including necessary resources, equipment and milestones.
  • Coordinating agreement between customer and external resources on construction targets, health and safety requirements, site organization and policy.
  • Responsible for the site, from receiving the assigned site area from the customer until handing it back on completion day.
  • Coordination of all on-site activities to ensure successful execution of start-up, construction, erection, testing and commissioning activities.
  • Serving as a project representative on site and building effective relationships with customers and local stakeholders.
  • Ensuring correct handling, storage and installation of equipment and material to avoid damages.
  • Reporting promptly to project logistics when goods have been received to site.
  • Ensuring detailed and up-to-date risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are in place.
  • Ensuring all on-site resources are properly trained and promoting health and safety considerations.
  • Controlling project cost for the project site work and monitoring actual spend against forecasts.
  • Ensuring all documentation is modified and updated as necessary.
  • Managing the sub-contractors on site to ensure necessary quality and progress are achieved.
  • Reporting regularly to the Project Manager on site activities, HSE (health, safety, environment), quality, progress, and cost.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in electrical/mechanical engineering, or equivalent skills.
  • 5+ years’ experience in construction and/or installation business.
  • Good understanding of the transmission regulations and current HSE legislation.
  • Proven leadership skills, with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
  • Proactive and flexible personality.
  • Scottish power authorised.
