Role Description

Leidos is seeking a Senior Substation Site Civil Engineer to join our site/civil department to work on a variety of electric utility projects. • Typical projects involve site/civil design engineering for both large and small scale utility projects.
• Candidates with commercial/industrial site development experience will also be considered.
• Function as a senior engineer performing design reviews on a regular basis.
• Develop junior staff members and contribute to bids and proposal development.
• Take a responsible engineer role on main client projects, overseeing work and ensuring quality control on design packages.
• Site-visits to client substation facilities are expected, along with occasional travel for client meetings and industry-related events.
• Experience in front-facing client operations such as lunch and learns, and kick-off meetings is preferred.
• Comply with quality control and safe work practices, maintaining compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget expectations.
• This position will be a senior member of a design team comprised of engineers, designers, and drafting technicians.

Location: Candidate MUST reside in the U.S.A. to be considered for this 100% REMOTE role.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
• Engineer with 4+ years of directly applicable civil-site design experience
• EI/EIT certification preferred
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D software and/or MicroStation OpenSite Designer software
• Experience with Hydraflow, ICPR, or various other hydrologic and hydraulic modeling & design programs
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, and other general software tools
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills
• Team player with ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff
• Able to execute projects and handle clients successfully with limited supervision
• Willing to travel, up to 25%
• Authorized to work in U.S.

• Land development permitting including NPDES, stormwater management, and knowledge of other typical local, state, and/or federal regulations and permit requirements
• Research additional site data through various sources
• Site layout, grading, and drainage design
• Stormwater modeling and design
• Erosion and sediment control design
• Access road design
• Utility coordination and design
• Retaining wall layout and design
• Documentation of all supporting calculations
• Quantity take-offs
• Construction drawings
• Construction specifications
• Construction observation and field engineering
• Coordination and collaboration with other design disciplines

Pay Range: $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
