Role Description

As a Senior Reliability Engineer, you are at the vanguard of the energy transition. You will architect the future of Power, Wind, and Electrification by driving cutting-edge systems integration, modeling, and simulation. From shaping data center power strategy to steering high-impact roadmaps, you will orchestrate collaborations with the DOE, DOD, top-tier universities, and global industry partners. This is your chance to pioneer the next generation of reliable, efficient, and stable energy systems that will power the world.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in engineering or business.
  • At least 12 years of professional experience in engineering, project or plant reliability, or a related function.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering or technical consulting, including at least 2 years of experience leading teams to deliver high-value technical or strategic solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience in professional roles requiring the development and delivery of technical presentations, with at least 3 years of experience engaging directly with internal or external C-suite/executive leadership.
  • 5+ years of experience managing complex engineering or policy initiatives, with a documented history of delivering at least 3 major projects on-time and within budget constraints.
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing or navigating government structures, global energy policy, and power market mechanics, with demonstrated ability to assess the macroeconomic impacts of regulatory changes.
  • 5+ years of experience with “inside-the-fence” power generation technologies, specifically in the application, design, or maintenance of gas generators, BESS, STATCOMs, HV/LV electrical gear, and fuel cell technologies.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience performing formal reliability studies, including FMECA, RCA, FTA, and RAM analysis.
  • 3+ years of direct experience using BlockSim for reliability modeling. Experience with MAPS or MARS preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel a minimum of 25% of the time, as required.

Requirements

  • Evaluating and proposing design power generation architectures on an application-specific basis, considering factors such as system performance and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain reliability models using BlockSIM to validate system performance, availability, and maintainability for complex integrated power solutions.
  • Lead equipment coordination modeling between teams to ensure maximum uptime, system resilience, and operational efficiency for “inside the fence line” power generation assets.
  • Translate key customer availability, mean time between failures (MTBF), and Service Level Agreement (SLA) expectations into concrete electrical configuration and protective relaying requirements.
  • Support equipment LCOE and operational reliability requirements.
  • Perform reliability-centered simulations to derisk integration, ensuring consistency with industry standards and reference architectures.
  • Lead onsite generation report definition and gather necessary information to support customer meetings and final report submittal.
  • Lead business unit coordinator for ongoing customer projects and proposals.
  • Support and lead cross-functional efforts to perform coordination studies and requirements testing for the entire power system.
  • Deep technical understanding of power generation system reliability metrics and EPC project integration.
  • Standardizing solutions by developing reference architectures to certain repeatable applications.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage.
  • Access to Health Coach from GE Vernova, a 24/7 nurse-based resource.
  • Access to the Employee Assistance Program, providing 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling, and referral services.
  • Retirement benefits including the GE Vernova Retirement Savings Plan, a tax-advantaged 401(k) savings opportunity with company matching contributions.
  • Tuition assistance and adoption assistance.
  • Paid parental leave and disability benefits.
  • Life insurance and 12 paid holidays.
  • Permissive time off.
