Role Description

Join a small avionics team at a defense and aerospace technology company, designing power systems and electronics for advanced flight vehicles. You will take meaningful hardware subsystems from initial design through testing and production integration.

• Design power electronics PCBAs, including motor controllers, DC-DC converters, inverters, power switches, and power distribution systems.
• Own hardware development from schematic design through bring-up, debugging, validation, and production integration.
• Define subsystem requirements and develop power system designs within the broader vehicle context.
• Design high-voltage and high-current systems for actuators, power filtering, and mission-critical avionics.
• Support ground systems power electronics as needed alongside flight hardware development.

Qualifications

• Three to fifteen years of hands-on power electronics design experience, including motor controllers, DC-DC converters, or power distribution PCBAs.
• A BS, MS, or PhD in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Experience designing PCBs with Altium or an equivalent tool, and owning hardware through production.
• Practical experience bringing up and validating circuit hardware, not solely providing systems oversight.
• Familiarity with SPICE and MATLAB/Simulink, plus experience with high-voltage systems, EMI/EMC, or inverters.
• Background in aerospace, defense, automotive, robotics, or another hardware-focused environment is valuable.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a security clearance are required.

Benefits

• Salary range: $150,000 to $200,000 annually.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.
