Role Description

Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems Division (EESS) is currently seeking a Design Engineer - Power Distribution. This role can be based remote within the United States.

The purpose of this position is to provide design engineering services instrumental to the completion of major electrical projects.

• The Senior Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for assisting with design deliverables to maintain project schedule, design budget, design accuracy, and submittal completeness working in concert with a broader project team.
• The Design Engineer will gain valuable experience by working under the supervision of a more experienced senior engineer.

• Conduit/cable plans
• AC/DC Control power drawings
• SCADA
• Grounding drawings/details
• Equipment Testing Procedures

Qualifications

• BS in electrical engineering from an accredited institution
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in medium voltage power distribution or substation design
• Preferred: Five (5) years of experience
• Preferred: EIT or PE License
• Preferred: Field experience in testing/commissioning medium voltage equipment
• Preferred: Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

Requirements

• Knowledge/exposure to MV equipment ranging from 5kV – 138kV
• Ability to maintain schedule and budget
• Ability to work with remote team of engineers
• Obtain mentoring from lead engineers
• Assist in engineering estimates to develop scope, budget, and review technical documents
• Knowledge and understanding of turnkey projects
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of NEC, NESC, ANSI, IEEE
• Periodic travel to sites during construction/commissioning
• Submit to periodic drug and background screens for compliance with customer entrance requirements in order to perform on-site work
