[Hiring] Senior Manager of Vehicle Engineering @Lime

Role Description

As a Senior Manager of Vehicle Engineering, you play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our products. Your mission is to manage a dynamic team of mechanical and electrical engineers, driving the successful development of Lime vehicles, vehicle accessories, and new technologies.

This is a remote role with regular visits to our engineering offices in the EU, and occasional travel to Lime’s global offices and Lime’s supplier sites.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage and inspire a high-performance hardware engineering team that develops the industry’s best hardware.
• Provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership to shape and influence future roadmaps, product architectures, technology investments, partnerships, and product plans.
• Engage in and support all aspects of the product life cycle management, including concept, development, integration, qualification, manufacturing, delivery, acceptance, field performance, and end-of-life.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members to identify vehicle features, functions, and requirements.
• Provide technical oversight and management of ODM and JDM supplier relationships and projects.
• Partner with our global Operations team to identify and develop improvements to our deployed vehicle fleet.
• Create initial prototypes and concept models of new vehicle modules with an eye towards practicality and manufacturing feasibility.
• Stay abreast of new technologies relevant to our industry and implement them when feasible.
• Bring best in class tools and processes to Lime’s development processes including mCAD, structural simulation, mold flow simulation, 3D tolerance analysis, DFM, eCAD, schematic capture, circuit simulation, SIPI, PCB layout, PCB fab, SMT, ICT, conducted and OTA RF testing, system validation, and qualification.

Requirements

• BSEE, BSME or similar with 10+ years of experience in hardware development.
• Interest and/or experience in transportation/small vehicle design.
• Experience with vehicle/motor control systems.
• Experience developing high volume plastic and metal components with tight tolerances and strict cosmetic standards.
• Experience developing electro-mechanical systems utilizing motors, gears, control electronics, and integrated sensors.
• Experience developing battery powered, outdoor systems that demonstrate best in class safety.
