[Hiring] Senior Lead Electrical Engineer @DLB Associates

Role Description

This position is available in DLB’s Mission Critical Department and focuses primarily on hyperscale data centers and related mission critical facilities. The Senior Lead Electrical Engineer, Datacenter will have the opportunity to collaborate with all design staff and oversee full cycle electrical design activities for commercial building design and construction. This person will work as part of the Engineering Team and interact closely with organizational leadership to develop and edit project specifications and lead design development efforts. The Senior Lead Electrical Engineer, Datacenter will be self-directed on day-to-day work and independently performs most responsibilities. Will lead project teams and projects of complex scope and broader programs. Will coordinate activities of other personnel. Assists in the development of policies and procedures. The Senior Lead Electrical Engineer, Datacenter will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of mission critical electrical infrastructure including utility services, medium- and low-voltage distribution, standby generation, UPS systems, paralleling switchgear, transfer schemes, and critical power distribution.
• Expert understanding of resilient power architectures including N, N+1, 2N, distributed redundant, and concurrently maintainable system designs.
• Knowledge of codes and specifications for the design of electrical systems including National Electric Code, Life Safety and Energy Conservation Codes.
• Knowledge of technical/design software including short circuit coordination and arc flash studies, equipment sizing, underground feeder calculations, and lighting calculations.
• Demonstrated experience serving as Engineer of Record or technical lead for complex mission critical projects.
• Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management.
• Skilled at producing drawings and visual aids using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Skilled in performing code analysis including selection of equipment, wiring, etc. to meet code requirements.
• Ability to work successfully in a remote environment through effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness, and resourcefulness in a distraction-free workspace.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines.
• Ability to effectively plan and delegate the work of others.
• Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from ABET accredited institution.
• PE in related discipline.
• Minimum thirteen years of progressive electrical engineering experience, including extensive experience leading the design and execution of mission critical facilities such as hyperscale data centers, enterprise data centers, AI infrastructure, semiconductor facilities, healthcare, or other high-availability environments.
