As Senior Engineering Manager, Device Products & Operations, you will oversee software engineering across PatientPoint’s device-side product areas:

• Field operations and device management tooling
• Exam-room patient engagement technology
• Waiting-room displays
• Back-office systems

This is a hands-on role: you’ll stay close to the code, contribute directly where it matters, champion AI-assisted and agentic ways of working across your teams, and bring credible, current expertise across:

• Android (including Custom Android ROM, kiosk/rooted device management)
• AWS (IoT Core, Lambda, Bedrock AgentCore)
• JavaScript/React front-ends

What You’ll Do

• Own engineering outcomes across PatientPoint’s device product areas.
• Serve as the Engineering Manager for a mix of senior Engineering Leads and individual-contributor engineers.
• Stay close to the code: lead code reviews and guide teams on technical best practices.
• Champion AI-assisted and agentic engineering practices.
• Coordinate priorities and dependencies across multiple product areas.
• Contribute to cross-org architecture discussions.
• Help engineers and Engineering Leads grow in their roles.
• Partner closely with Product and Design leads.
• Manage a blended team of full-time and contract engineers.
• Escalate organizational, staffing, and resourcing needs to engineering leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading engineers or engineering teams.
• Recent hands-on technical involvement within the last 1–2 years.
• Current hands-on experience with native Android development using Kotlin.
• Experience with AOSP, customized Android ROMs, and rooted or kiosk-mode Android devices.
• Experience with Java in addition to Kotlin.
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and React-based front-end development.
• Experience building software for connected, managed, or remotely deployed devices.
• Experience leading engineers across multiple concurrent products.
• Strong understanding of constraints associated with deployed devices.
• Experience supporting remotely deployed device fleets.
• Experience with backend technologies supporting device fleets.
• Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools.
• Working knowledge of cloud-based services and APIs.
• Experience managing blended teams of full-time employees and contractors.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field.
• Experience with BrightSign or other digital signage/device-management platforms.
• Experience with IoT technologies and protocols.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose.
• Experience contributing to an architecture review process.
• Experience operating in a product-operating-model or product-trio structure.
• Experience guiding or contributing to AI-powered product capabilities.
• Experience with agent-orchestration frameworks or patterns.
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform or similar cross-platform native architectures.
• Experience developing, tracking, or improving engineering delivery metrics.
• Experience with vulnerability management and application security.
• Experience in healthcare or another regulated industry.
• Experience leading through organizational change.

Compensation

Base Salary Band: $154,200 - $212,200. At PatientPoint, we are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards.
