Role Description

The Principal Architect – Cloud Foundation role will lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale infrastructure modernization initiatives as clients move towards Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC), Automation and Hybrid Clouds. This post-sales role is embedded within our professional services organization and is accountable for ensuring successful implementation and user adoption of VMware by Broadcom technology solutions.

• Lead technical architecture and solution delivery for VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) projects across multiple service domains.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Cloud Foundation domain.
• Provide architecture and delivery leadership for:
  • Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) solutions, including VMware VCF 9.x.
  • Cloud Management solutions, including VMware VCF Automation and VMware VCF Operations.
  • Network Virtualization solutions, including VMware VCF Networking.
  • CI/CD pipeline technologies, including GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, GitHub, and AWS DevOps.
• Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python, JavaScript, and other scripting languages.
• Apply extensive knowledge of DevOps methodologies, including governance and security best practices.
• Leverage deep expertise in Kubernetes platforms and related technologies.
• Utilize extensive experience with Agile and Scrum delivery methodologies.
• Serve as the technical lead and SME on projects and workshops, providing oversight, guidance, and accountability for project outcomes.
• Lead the development of tools, frameworks, and processes that improve project delivery efficiency and consistency.
• Act as an industry leader in infrastructure modernization strategies, processes, and methodologies.
• Partner with sales and presales teams to identify and close professional services opportunities through customer discovery and solution scoping discussions.
• Deliver configuration, implementation, and upgrade services within customer environments.
• Mentor and develop other architects and consultants, providing technical guidance and best practices.
• Participate in presales engagements, solution design sessions, and service planning activities.
• Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, and vendor offerings.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship in both presales and post-sales capacities to support the successful evaluation, adoption, and ongoing use of solutions and services.
• Demonstrate long-term strategic thinking related to the Infrastructure practice, service offerings, and customer engagements.

• Ability to systematically identify, document, and manage the technical needs and specifications of a project by engaging with stakeholders and analyzing business objectives to ensure successful project outcomes - Expert
• Ability to define, design, build, and maintain robust systems and solutions by leveraging systems and infrastructure effectively - Expert
• Ability to write, debug, and maintain code in various scripting and programming languages to automate tasks and develop software solutions - Expert
• Ability to understand and manage various infrastructure components (firewalls, load balancers, hypervisors, storage, monitoring, security) and use orchestration tools to develop comprehensive technical solutions - Expert
• Ability to develop detailed Statements of Work (SOWs) and drive revenue growth through professional services engagements - Expert
• Extensive experience working on large scale IT projects related to design, deployment and configuration - Expert

Benefits

• Base salary for this position is $180,000 - $220,000.
• Estimated on-target earnings (OTE), which includes a base salary and bonus, are $220,000 - $250,000.
• Compensation is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
