[Hiring] OSP Draughtsman Level 1 - Telecom @CCI Systems, Inc.

Role Description

We are seeking an OPS Draughtsman who is responsible for producing, updating, and validating accurate field drawings and as-built documentation in accordance with company standards, project specifications, and quality requirements. Acting as a critical link between field operations and engineering, the position translates real-time field conditions into precise, high-quality technical drawings. The role also supports quality control processes throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring documentation integrity and alignment with project deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate field, redline, and as-built drawings, performing new-build fiber route drafting based on site surveys, field markups, and approved project documentation.
• Review field data and construction modifications to ensure drawings reflect actual installed conditions.
• Apply QC standards to all drawings, checking for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Work with the Project Manager, Project Supervisor, and/or the Lead Drafter to finalize projects within specified SLAs – Service Level Agreements (deadlines).
• Maintain version control and proper documentation of drawing revisions.
• Ensure drawings comply with applicable codes, regulations, and client requirements.
• Support audits, inspections, and closeout documentation.
• Maintain organized digital and physical project files.
• Identify drawing errors or constructability concerns and communicate corrective actions.
• Ensure confidentiality of company information.
• Perform other related duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of cable mapping experience within CATV industry.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the fielding process with hands-on experience in CATV as-built and new build walkouts.
• Knowledge of cable design and basic OSP construction practices for cable systems.
• Able to read and interpret maps, drawings, and diagrams associated with CATV projects.
• Ability to accurately update As-Built field prints with equipment & information obtained from the field walkout.
• The ability to draw digitally in software programs like Bluebeam is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Katapult, ArcGIS, CMZ, Google Earth, or similar.
• Good computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, & PDF Editor with the ability to learn new software and technologies.
• Must be fluent in English, both written and verbally.
• Experience preparing reports and plans.
• Strong analytical, observational, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently within minimal supervision.
• Highly responsible, resourceful, accurate, dependable, and self-motivated.
• Able to work from home effectively, using company-approved tools and systems to produce accurate drawings, coordinate with project teams, and meet quality and schedule requirements.

Requirements

• Permitting experience in telecommunications such as right of way (ROW), pole, railroad, and government agency permitting is preferred.
• Shift is full-time, work from home, 40 hours per week minimum, Monday – Friday, within the hours of 4:30 PM – 1:30 AM IST. Must be flexible, and willing and able to work outside normal business hours as necessary.
