[Hiring] Nuclear Innovation, Technical Leader I @EPRI

Role Description

The Nuclear Innovation, Technical Leader I will help define the next generation of nuclear power. This individual will lead collaborative R&D projects to take emerging technologies into deployable solutions by utilizing:

• Advance power uprates
• Digital modernization
• AI-enabled operations
• Innovative plant technologies with utilities, vendors, national labs, and regulators

Qualifications

• Experience working with nuclear power plants, ideally in engineering, either as a direct utility employee or contractor.
• Experience with power uprates and digital innovation is a plus.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required.

Requirements

• Works independently on technical activities without direct supervision.
• Conducts technical searches and analyzes information in support of the project team.
• Demonstrates responsibility for highly specialized technical objectives or problems where the relationships between cause and effect are difficult to establish.
• Applies technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
• Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
• Has developed relationships with primary advisors to a research area.
• Provides assistance to the EPRI sales staff in Member Services and EPRI International.
• Communicates strategies and results, written and verbal, to program members, potential members, and external stakeholders through guidelines, reports, meetings, webcasts, workshops, and conferences.
• Continues to communicate work across EPRI programs to ensure parallel work is informed.
• May provide oversight of a project team to assure technical and financial milestones are met.
• Organizes external and interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.
• Supports the planning and execution of complex project work within the technical department to meet member/client objectives; prepares and presents research reports.
• Manages small or medium (less complex) projects including budgets and resources.
• Begins interfacing with national and international technical networks (e.g., manufacturers, consultants, academia, and research organizations).
• Supports proposal efforts and new promotional work.
• Develops research or services opportunities of value to EPRI members that fit EPRI’s mission and capabilities.
• Continues to provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff.

Benefits

• Salary range: $118,000 USD to $130,000 USD annually.
