[Hiring] Engineer II - Capital Projects @City of Shoreline

Role Description

The Engineering Division within the Department is seeking a motivated individual to fill the role of Engineer II and become a key member of our Capital Projects Team.

The Capital Projects Team is responsible for the project management, design, and construction of City Capital projects, delivering an annual Capital Improvement Program of $50 million to $70 million with projects in:

• Transportation
• Surface water
• Wastewater
• Facilities

The individual selected will manage or support management of Capital Projects from planning through design and construction close-out, particularly in surface water and wastewater capital projects.

Project management assignments will include:

• Roadway projects
• New sidewalk and sidewalk rehabilitation projects
• Off corridor bike network projects
• Surface water projects
• Wastewater projects
• Facilities projects

Qualifications

• Knowledge of fundamentals of engineering, project management, and construction management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in managing and designing capital projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related MS Office software.

Requirements

• Five years managing and/or designing capital projects with at least three years at a project manager level.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, planning, architecture, construction management, or a related field.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Washington or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is desired.
